classroom1-637x477The latest Fraser Institute Report Card on Ontario’s Secondary Schools has been issued and one area school is in the top 20.

Out of 749 secondary schools in Ontario, FJ McElligott in Mattawa is 20th, with a rating of 8.7.

The Fraser Institute says “In addition to five years of academic results, the report card shows which Ontario secondary schools have improved, or fallen behind, based on seven performance indicators derived from provincewide test results.”

The next highest local ranking involves two area schools at 371st.

Both St Joseph-Scollard Hall and Franco Cite have a rating of 6.3.

Widdifield is next at 437th with a 5.9 rating, with Chippewa rounding out the top five with a 5.7 rating, and rank of 471st.
