ONTC(File photo) A tentative five year agreement has been reached between the ONTC and Teamsters Rail Conference Maintenance of Way Employees.

The union represents 161 employees who are responsible for maintaining Ontario Northland‘s rail infrastructure, including track, buildings and bridges along the rail line.

In a release Interim President and CEO Corina Moore says, “We are pleased that a fair agreement was reached with TCRC MWED that balances the interests of employees with the need to provide sustainable transportation services,”

She goes on to say, “This agreement is another positive step for the organization, and for strengthening our future.”

Louis Wilson, President of TCRC MWED says, “We look forward to presenting this agreement to our members,”

He goes on to say, “It is a fair agreement and we are proud of the hard work the bargaining team has done on behalf of our members.”

Further terms of the tentative deal have not been announced.
