water rates committeeDepending on the water consumption of residents, the water meters could put the city at a $400-$500,000 deficit. Chair of the Water Rates Review Committee George Maroosis says that’s based on the most recent presentation by city staff to council.  Maroosis says they have looked at a number of scenarios while trying to pinpoint the average usage. He says that’s been a little difficult because the average resident uses between 14 cubic meters of water per month, and upwards of 19 cubic meters per month.

Meantime, Maroosis says they will meet Wednesday and will look into the Commercial, Residential and Industrial sector comparisons.

Maroosis says this is an important part of the puzzle.
