A 73 year old North Bay male is facing several sexual assault charges.

The counts relate to seperate incidents from 1973-1999. Police say there were 8 sexual acts against 8 girls between the ages of 5 and 16 at the time of the incidents and two of them were criminally harassed.

Police say all of the victims were known to the accused who was in a position of trust. Police are not naming the accused to protect the identity of the victims.

The charges include three counts of indecent assault on a female, three counts of gross indecency, five counts of sexual assault on a person under 16, five counts of sexual interference on a person under 16 and two counts of criminal harassment.

North Bay Police have laid charges against two youths under the age of 18. The charges are based on a break and enter that happened earlier today on Memorial Drive.

Police say two males forced their way in and caused damage. A witness heard the noise and called police. Each youth has been charged with break and enter with intent to commit an offense.

One of the youths is being charged as well with obstruct police and 5 breach counts-3 for breach of probation and two for breach of recognizance.

Police say one person falsely identified himself to police. Police are not releasing any names in accordance with the youth criminal justice act.
