Police (north bay)A busy weekend for North Bay Police with 250 calls for service, In all 11 people were charged. The offenses include causing a disturbance, assault, criminal harassment, domestic assault, assault causing bodily harm, public intoxication, theft under 5 Thousand Dollars and breach of probationAlso, police are looking for public assistance in regard to a motor vehicle striking a cyclist Saturday August 8th at 7:30 pm. Police say the vehicle was an SUV. 

The female cyclist was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Hampel at 705-497-5555

As well, city police have laid charges in connection with two domestic assaults on the weekend.

A 30 year old North Bay man has been charged with two counts of assault following incidents last November and this April. Police say a male assaulted his common law spouse following verbal arguments.

Meantime, a 24 year old Callander man has been charged with two counts of assault following two incidents in August. 

Police say a male assaulted his common law spouse. In both cases, the name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Meantime, a 33 Year old Amherstburg man is facing several charges. The male has been charged with causing a disturbance by fighting, assault and breach of probation. 

Police say at 10:30 Sunday  morning a fight ensued at Algonquin and the Bypass. Police say the fight turned violent when one of the participants was assaulted by the other. 

Police had to break up the fight and the victim was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Also,  a 24 year old North Bay male is facing a charge following a weekend assault. Police say early on Sunday morning one male was assaulted by another with the victim transported to hospital.

And Almaguin Highlands OPP report there has been a fatal ATV accident within its detachment area.  Police say a 12 year old Caledon girl has been identified as the victim. 

Police say a driver lost control of the ATV Sunday morning and it rolled over the victim and into a ditch. 

Police say the 12 year old was wearing a helmet. A post mortem has been scheduled for Monday.
