A cross country caravan to raise support to Save Canada Post stopped in North Bay yesterday (Wednesday).

National President of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers Mike Palecek says people were very vocal during the town hall meeting, and there wasn’t much support for the cuts to Canada Post.

Palecek says the people in attendance showed a lot of anger and resentment towards the Conservative Government for pushing this ahead without consultation.

He adds 19 jobs could be lost in North Bay if the cuts go through. Palecek says overall about 50 residents came out for the event and he says that shows this is a major issue for people in North Bay.
