40 powerlifters took part in the the 2015 North Bay Open at Canadore’s Commerce Court gym this past weekend.

Local gold medalists included the Valhalla Powerlifting team’s Jennifer McConnell (pictured) and Wendy Gomes.

McConnell also won the top overall female award.

Five local lifters won silver medals, including Ryan McColeman who set three new sub-junior records.

Two other local male athletes won bronze.

The Valhalla Club also won the team pennant.
