Panthers breakfast Varsity Athletes had pancakes and coffee with staff and administration at Canadore College today.

It was the Annual Panthers’ Meet and Greet Breakfast – where athletes and coaches mingled with Canadore staff.

It was a way for the athletes to see the support from those at the College.

Sharmarke Mohamed is the Captain of the Mens Basketball Team. He says it makes the team feel better to see they are supported through sports and academics.

Mohamed adds the team expects to make an impact this year. He says “Our expectations our to finish top three in our division and make the playoffs – ultimately win an OCAA championship. Because what’s the point of playing if you don’t want to win a championship.

Captain of the Womens Volleyball Team McKenzie Mills is going into her fourth year. She says it’s great to know they have people behind them cheering them on.

Mills says their team is expecting big things this year as they have been building up a strong program over the last few years. She says “my first year, we did not get a single win all season – and now we’re hosting provincials. It’s incredible to see the progress and to be a part of it and to watch it grow.”
