The Responsible Gambling Council says young people are two to four times more likely to develop a gambling problem, compared to adults.

That’s one reason they’re bringing their hit, interactive, educational game show “Game Brain” to schools all across Ontario and West Ferris Secondary students were the latest to take part.

Jason Agnew and Matt Philips from YTV’s Splatalot were at the school this morning (Thursday) delivering the problem gambling prevention message in a one hour game show that includes the students.

Agnew says gambling isn’t just about going to a casino or the track.

He says it’s also playing poker with friends or online and even sports betting.

He says, “the odds are always stacked against you and there’s no such thing as a safe bet.”

Agnew says a lot of the kids love the presentation and the fact they’re accessible too.

The one-hour show includes five game show-style activities involving the realities of gambling, what someone risks losing, signs of a problem, avoiding the risks and available help resources.
