(UPDATE) Elderly male pedestrian struck by a school bus

North Bay Police confirm an elderly male pedestrian was struck by a school bus this morning (Tuesday).

The collision happened just before 8:30 at the intersection of Cassells Street and Second Avenue.

Police say a man was injured and taken to hospital. They say the man, who is in his 70’s, is in stable condition.

Police say neither the bus driver nor the students on the bus were injured.

They also say they’re contacting the parents of each of the students on board to inform them that they are all safe.

The investigation continues, but police say the heavy early morning fog had lifted by the time of the collision and was not a factor.

Suspect sought in thefts from vehicles on Anita Avenue

Meantime, North Bay Police are investigating three incidents of thefts from vehicles.

All were reported from residents of Anita Avenue whose vehicles were parked in driveways overnight between October 21st and October 22nd, 2015.

Loose change, cash, Canadian Tire money, a hockey stick, laptop and a duffle bag with clothing were all taken.

An image was captured by video and city police are looking to identify the male who was on the property of an Anita Avenue resident at 1:30 am on Thursday October 22nd.
