North Bay PoliceA 55 year old North Bay man has been charged with assault with a weapon and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Police say the charges were laid after a verbal argument took place on Lansdowne Avenue on Monday.

Police say a female passenger in a parked SUV was involved in the argument with a male pedestrian. 

Police say the driver drove the vehicle down Lansdowne, hit the pedestrian near McLeod and then fled.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was arrested Wednesday at police headquarters.
