Tiny Italy’s pilot project was a hit last year, and now there could be more outdoor patios in North Bay’s downtown.

The City has a proposal on the table for a business application process.

Manager of Planning Services Beverley Hillier says the feedback from last year’s patio at Tiny Italy was outstanding and now they want to expand on that.

She says it looked great and was well used, and it’s very common throughout communities in Ontario to see this kind of structure built.

The proposal is staying at the committee level for now for further examination.

Some councillors had an issue with the $400 application fee and the city will re-evaluate that.

Approved business owners would get to have a patio from the May long weekend to the October Thanksgiving weekend.
