Jen McConnell nationals

Great results and some records for local weightlifters at the Canadian Powerlifting Union’s National finals in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The event ran from February 15th to the 20th.

Three local Valhalla Club members won gold while a lifter from Canadore won silver.  

Jen McConnell (pictured above) won gold in the 57 kilo division and also set a new personal record.

Jan Shulman won the 52 kilo gold in the Masters 4 age category.

Her squat, deadlift, and total of 177.5 kilos are now new Canadian Powerlifting Union records.

Riley Bullett won the Sub-Junior (under 18) 59 kilo title.

The 16 year old West Ferris Secondary student also set three new Canadian records in the bench press, deadlift and total.

Meantime, Canadore’s Lucas Homer won silver in the male 66 kilo division in the junior (Under 23) competition.
