North Bay PoliceA busy couple of days for North Bay Police this past weekend with 218 calls for service and 10 people facing charges.

Charges include assault, assault with a weapon, domestic assault, breach of probation, mischief, obstruct peace officer, uttering threats, criminal harassment, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and theft under $5000.

Friday evening saw North Bay Police perform a traffic stop where a 26 year old North Bay man was charged.

It’s alleged while the man was in the vehicle, he provided the officers with a false name.

After an investigation, Police discovered the man’s true identity and found that he was wanted by police after failing to appear in court for a separate incident.

Following a police search, the man was found to have sports cards reportedly stolen this past Tuesday.

The man has since been charged with one count of obstruct police officer and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

 

Following an investigation into a domestic incident that occurred early Sunday morning, North Bay Police arrested and charged a 25-year old North Bay man with two counts of assault, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of mischief, one count of uttering threats, and two counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that at approximately 2:45am, Sunday February 21st, a verbal argument between a man and his girlfriend in her neighbour’s North Bay residence turned violent when the man physically attacked her, threw a hub cap at her and damaged household items.

Before he left the residence, the man also hit his girlfriend’s friend.

When his girlfriend confronted him outside, he threatened her and then fled the scene on foot.

Police arrested the accused shortly thereafter following a foot pursuit.

The victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of this incident.

The accused, whose name the North Bay Police Service is withholding in the interest of protecting the identity of the victims, was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Following an investigation into a domestic incident that was reported to police on Sunday afternoon, North Bay Police arrested a 23-year old North Bay man at police headquarters and charged him with two counts of assault with a weapon and four counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on Wednesday February 17th, 2016, at about 12:30pm, an argument between the accused and his female partner in their shared residence turned violent when he threw kitchenware at her.

The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.

The accused, whose name the North Bay Police Service is withholding in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, was held in custody for a bail hearing.
