The best AAA Bantam Teams in the province begin battling for the All-Ontario Championship today in Rockland, just outside of Ottawa.

That includes the local North Bay Major Bantam AAA Trappers.

Head Coach Scott Huycke says they know the competition will be tough, but this is the second time the Trappers have been to this tournament in three years.

He says they have played a team game all season and they are looking to continue that in this tournament.

Huycke says, “Everybody has their role, some may be a little bigger than others.  But, they all have an important role on this team and that’s what drives us, compete at our highest level and play smart.”

He also says they expect a lot of good competition in this tournament,

“The Mississauga Rebels, London and Whitby going in are all rated in the top 5 in the province.”

The Trappers won their third straight NOHA championship this season.

At the OHF championship, they play the Eastern Ontario Wild at 11 o’clock this morning (Monday) and then the Ottawa Senators tonight at 6 pm.
