A busy weekend for city police with 11 people arrested and charged with various offences.

Those include; theft under $5000, impaired driving, public intoxication, trafficking cocaine, and domestic assault.

Overall, police responded to 278 calls for service.

Two men are facing drug charges after an arrest on Friday evening.

The North Bay Police Street Crime Unit observed a suspected drug transaction on Fraser Street and First Avenue East.

Police subsequently arrested, searched and charge Kyle James Goulais of Commanda Township with one count of trafficking cocaine and one count of possession of cash obtained by crime.

As well a 56-year old North Bay man is charged with one count of possession of cocaine and one count of obstruct police officer for attempting to swallow the drug before his arrest.

The North Bay Police Service has released the numbers on the domestic violence stats for March of 2016.

Police answered 93 domestic related calls for service, 12 people were arrested and 33 charges were laid.

7 men were arrested and charged including five charged with assault, once charge for criminal harassment and one charge for forcible confinement.

5 women were arrested and charged with five for assault, and three charges for assault with weapon.
