The North Bay Regional Health Centre is officially a provider of health care in English and French.

It has received legal designation to that effort.

The health centre requested partial designation as a french language service provider under the French Language Services Act and the request was accepted.

To mark the occasion a flag raising ceremony was held at the health centre with the Franco-Ontarian flag being raised.

On hand were officials from the hospital and the Northeast LHIN.

The designation means the facility is legally required to offer some health services in french and to improve access in french for Francophones.
