A pair of Irish rowers stole the show at the Rio Olympics this weekend by giving a hilarious interview after winning the silver medal in the lightweight double sculls. Speaking to Ireland’s national broadcaster RTE, brothers Paul and Gary O’Donovan used the interview as an excuse to talk about peeing in cups, wearing their “podium pants” after winning the medal and eating Nutella following their big race. The brothers also joked about the picturesque views in Brazil by announcing, “We’re in Rio, the background might look superimposed but it’s very real.” Twitter was quick to respond, calling the O’Donovan brothers “Ireland’s gift to the world” Their win marks Ireland’s first ever Olympic medal for rowing, and the country’s first medal of the Rio Games.
