Gas prices are on the rise in North Bay.

A litre of regular is up anywhere from 8 to 11 cents, depending on the gas station.

According to GasBuddy.com, some local prices are still listed around $1.11 (as of noon).

Others are up to $1.19 and $1.24.

Prices are up in many parts of the country.

Dan McTeague, a senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy, says a combination of higher ingredient costs for summer fuel and the lower value of the loonie have caused prices in Eastern Canada to hit their highest level since October 2014.

The Energy Ministry’s website shows that a year ago, the price was just under 95 cents a litre in North Bay.

Gas prices locally haven’t been this expensive since June 2015.
