St Joseph-Scollard Hall are this years buckle up champs.

They defeated Chippewa in the competition which saw 5 students buckle up , get out of the vehicle and re buckle in another seat.

The top team after several rotations won the competition and that was the Bears.

North Bay Police Cst. Ken Ayres says the the competition is meant to show students that it doesn’t take too long to put your seat belt on whatever your seat you’re in in the vehicle.

He says the bigger picture is that people are still being fined for not wearing their seat belts.

Cst. Ayres says he still sees drivers and passengers are not obeying the law despite the fact that wearing a seat belt can save your life.
