Two city men are facing a slew of drug charges after a North Bay Police Service Street Crimes Unit investigation into alleged trafficking of purple Fentanyl.

Police say about $11,000 in drugs and equipment has been seized, including 17.4 grams of purple Fentanyl, along with a quantity of cocaine and marijuana.

Both men, ages 29 and 25 were arrested last Friday and face nine charges each, including drug possession and trafficking.

Police have previously warned synthetic Fentanyl is related to numerous deaths and overdoses in northeastern Ontario and is involved with an epidemic crisis in western Canada.
