The surviving members of Soundgarden held an emotional reunion on Wednesday night at I Am The Highway, a five-hour tribute concert for the band’s late singer, Chris Cornell. The group was joined by several guest vocalists, including Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen (who performed multiple songs, including “Loud Love” and “Rusty Cage”), Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins (“The Day I Tried To Live”) and Americana star Brandi Carlile, who took vocals on “Black Hole Sun.” The star-studded event also featured a set from several members of Temple of the Dog (although not Eddie Vedder), highlighted by Miley Cyrus singing “Say Hello 2 Heaven,” Carlile and Chris Stapleton performing “Hunger Strike,” and an Audioslave set with guests Dave Grohl, Perry Farrell and Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler. Other notable performers included Metallica, who tackled Soundgarden’s “All Your Lies” and “Head Injury,” in addition to their own tunes “For Whom the Bell Tolls” and “Master of Puppets.” Meanwhile, Grohl performed a solo “Everlong.” The concert also featured performances from Fiona Apple, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, Miguel, and Cornell’s daughter, Toni, who performed Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song.”
