The children of Chris Cornell accepted a Grammy on behalf of their late father at the 61st annual Grammy Awards on Sunday. Cornell’s 14-year-old daughter Toni and 13-year-old son Christopher took the stage to collect the trophy for Best Rock Performance for “When Bad Does Good” during the non-televised segment of the ceremony. “It was very difficult because, obviously, we miss him so much and we saw him work on this so hard–he was always working on it music [because] it was his passion,” Toni told reporters backstage. “It was really sad in a way to feel like he couldn’t be there himself to accept it for something that he was so proud of and worked so hard on.” Cornell previously won two Grammys in 1994 for Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” (Best Hard Rock Performance) and “Spoonman” (Best Metal Performance).
