North Bay Police are looking for the public’s help after a suitcase was stolen from a Duke Street residence on February 27th.

Inside the black ‘Outback’ suitcase was a glass bottle containing the ashes of the victim’s recently deceased father.

The bottle is about three inches tall.

Also taken was a silver medallion stamped with ‘your wings were ready but my heart was not 01/07/2019’.

Anyone with information that may assist police with this investigation is asked to call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 and select option 9 to speak to a police officer. Constable Tom Robertson is the investigating officer

North Bay Police are advising of a scam on social media.

Police say they’ve received two reports of telephone calls indicating a family emergency.

One was of a child who was impaired and needed bail money and the other indicated someone was in a car accident, had a broken nose and needed funds to pay medical bills.

Police say in both cases they were contacted and no money was paid to the scammers.
