Macleans has compiled a list of Canada’s Best Communities and North Bay is 138th out of 415 cities and towns across the country.

The rankings look at a number of factors including wealth and economy, affordability, population growth, taxes, commute, crime, weather, access to health care, amenities and culture.

West Nipissing is tops in the northeast at 82, followed by Greater Sudbury at 116.

Timmins is 152nd, Sault Ste Marie is 215th and Temiskaming Shores comes in at 241.

Number one overall is Burlington.

Last place goes to Mountain View Country, Alberta.
