Three local volleyball teams won medals at weekend events

The North Bay Youth Volleyball Club Lakers U15 girls team won gold at a Barrie tournament on the weekend.

They went undefeated to win the event and advance to the Championship Division.

In the final, the Lakers defeated a Newmarket team in two close sets.

Meantime, two Vision Volleyball teams won medals on the weekend.

The 16 and under girls team went undefeated at Sturgeon Falls tournament and won gold.

Meantime, in Oshawa the 15 and under girls team won silver.

Their only loss was to a Hamilton team in the final.

Next month they’re competing in the ESPN Disney Classic.
