North Bay Pride 2020 is being postponed because of COVID-19.

Officials say they’re disappointed but everyone’s health is far to valuable to risk.

They also say it cannot be the same event they had planned for July 22nd to 25th and they’ll adjust events to meet the needs of the community and protect everyone’s health.

Further updates will be made soon.

The following statement was released by the Pride North Bay 2020 Board of Directors:

We recognize how important pride is to the community and have been talking to other pride organizations and listening to government officials. Many prides have been cancelled this year, while others have been postponed until the fall.
We recognize that these are unusual times for everyone, so we do not want to cancel North Bay Pride 2020, but unfortunately there are many unknowns at this stage. We are learning that things change daily, and things are very unstable for many.
We have decided to postpone North Bay Pride at this time. Everyone must also understand that it cannot be the same event as we have planned for July 22 through 25th, 2020 and we will adjust events to meet the needs of the community and protect the health of everyone we can. We know this may be disappointing and we are disappointed too, but your health is far too valuable to risk.
We will update you further soon.
Thank you for your ongoing support and please stay home. Stay safe. As Geri Atrick has said before, never underestimate who you are.
