Earlier this year we got word that Catherine Minkowskyj was making a rock quilt out of concert t-shirts and needed a few more shirts to finish it off.  We put out the call to our listeners, who came through with the last few shirts required to complete this cool project.  The rock quilt is now complete and it looks awesome.  Here’s what Catherine’s husband John told us about how the quilt came to be:

“This all began when my wife noticed that our son only wore the top half dozen shirts in his drawer that were washed or clean.

So she dug to the bottom to show him the extensive wardrobe. You know how kids are they only use what’s on top, too much

effort to dig down deep. Some of the shirts were too small. A light bulb went off in her head and she proposed a Rock Quilt.

Everyone thought it was a great idea. This is the first quilt my wife has made.  We’d like to thank all the people that donated the 4 tees for the bottom row.”

There’s some classic images on that quilt.  Nice work Catherine!
