Good news for local transit riders.

The number of people allowed on city transit buses has been increased.

The city says with face coverings mandatory in all enclosed publicly-accessible spaces in the district, North Bay Transit will allow up to 25 people to ride each bus.

That’s up from the previously announced limit of 15.

Riders are still encouraged to wash their hands regularly or use hand sanitizer and to leave space between passengers when possible.

Buses have been equipped with plexiglass barriers separating operators and passengers since front-door boarding and fare collection resumed as of June 15.
