Fundraising swim across Lake Nipissing is well underway

A Hamilton marathon swimmer continues her 28 kilometre trek across Lake Nipissing.

Marilyn Korzekwa began the fundraising swim near the French River at about 7:15 this morning.

At last check she was 3 km from Manitou Island and is expected to arrive there around 5 pm.

As well, Marilyn is staying consistently at 58 to 61 strokes per minute.

The swim will wrap up at Marathon Beach in North Bay, and is expected to take about 14 hours to complete.

And that’ll be past 9 tonight.

The swim is supporting NADY and the Nipissing Trackers Special Ski program.

Officials ask boaters on the lake to stay clear of the flotilla for safety reasons.
