A 21 year old North Bay man has been charged following a stabbing.

Police say they were called to a McIntyre Street West residence on Saturday where an argument turned physical and one person was stabbed several times with an edged weapon.

The victim remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.

The charges include assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.

A 20 year old Sturgeon Falls man has been charged with assault with a weapon in connection with a stabbing incident.
Police say last Thursday, two people were walking on King Street when a conversation became heated and one person was stabbed in the upper body.

Two of the people were familiar with each other.

The victim was taken to hospital and treated and released,

A 25 year old North Bay man is facing multiple charges following an incident last Wednesday.

They include assault with a weapon, mischief and causing a disturbance,

Police say someone attended a residence on Worthington Street West, began banging on the door making demands of the occupants.

Police say a club was then raised and the person demanded a resident to come out and fight him.

Police were then called.

Damage was done the door of the house and the vehicle parked nearby.

Police say a resident was struck with a duffel bag.

Nipissing West OPP are looking into a fail to remain collision, involving a pick-up truck and a bicycle.

It took place at the intersection of Front and Nipissing Streets in Sturgeon Falls last Friday morning.

Police say the cyclist was attempting to cross Nipissing Street when a pick-up truck pulled up beside made a right turn and struck the cyclist.

The driver of the pick-up truck did not stop and left the scene via Nipissing Street.

The cyclist was not injured.

The vehicle is described as a dark coloured 4-door Chevrolet pick-up truck with a saddle storage box in the back and stickers in the rear window, possibly the name of a business.

The truck also appears to have an after-market front bumper.

Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP.

North Bay Police are seeking information on a residential break and enter.

Police say it was reported Saturday at a residence on the 200 block of Princess Street East.

Police say a garage was broken into by forcing a door open and various hand tools and electric tools valued at several thousand dollars were removed.

A swearing in ceremony was held last week for two North Bay Police officers.

The newest officers are Constables Patrick Faye and Constable Colin Jerome.

Both of the service’s new officers were born and raised in North Bay, both attended École Secondaire Catholique Algonquin and have a passion for football.
Constable Faye has been employed by the Ontario Provincial Police at their communications center in North Bay for the past five years.

Constable Jerome has a degree in Sociology from Guelph University where he played football for the Guelph Gryphons and assists coaching football at St. Joseph’s Scollard Hall.

Constable Jerome’s father Robert recently retired from the police service after serving the community for over 30 years.
