Two North Bay Battalion players are on the preliminary 2021 players to watch list from NHL Central Scouting.

Troops goalie Joe Vrbetic is in the ‘B’ category of players while the ‘C’ list includes Battalion forward Matvei Petrov.

Also on the B list is Corbeil’s Ben Gaudreau who plays for Sarnia.

A ‘B’ rating indicates a second or third round candidate while ‘C’ indicates a fourth, fifth or sixth round candidate.

Last season Battalion forward Brandon Coe moved up the rankings throughout the year.

He was selected in the 4th round of this year’s draft, 98th overall by the San Jose Sharks.
