A five year labour agreement has been reached between the city and municipal and library workers in North Bay.

Council supported the deal after the workers ratified it earlier this month.

The agreement retroactive to January 1st of this year calls for a six per cent increase in total over five years.

Workers will receive a wage increase of 1.6 per cent for the first year of the contract, followed by 0.6 per cent in 2021 and 2022, 1.5 per cent in 2023 and 1.75 in 2024.

The collective agreement applies to 278 members.

CUPE Local 122’s website says, “they fix roads, drive our buses, test drinking water, connect us with library resources, run ice rinks, maintain our parks, lead community workshops, and much more.”
