Community FoundationSome worthwhile community organizations are smiling today thanks to the North Bay and Area Community Foundation.

Yesterday, executive director Kate Merritt-Dupelle announced 9 organizations will receive a total of $35,000 in funding through the efforts of the community and some generous donors.

She says it will be great to see the impact this money will have on the community.

The recipients include the Capitol Centre, the North Bay Symphony, the Warming Centre, the Military Family Resource Centre, One Kids Place, the PADDLE program, the North Bay Food Bank, the North Bay North Stars and Operation Legacy, which is a Canadore scholarship program.

Merritt-Dupelle says they were able to handle all of the agencies requests whether it was partial or complete funding for the various programs.

Meantime, their 2016 fundraising dinner will be held on May 6th at the Clarion Resort Pinewood Park.

Tickets are $100 each.

Last year they raised over $30,000 after raising $5,000 at their first dinner in 2010.
