There will be a second tree that will be lit up on the night of the Ol Fashion Downtown Christmas Walk.

North Bay Heritage Gardeners and the North Bay Museum unveiled their new 40 foot Christmas Tree Wednesday outside the museum.

It’s part of their Light Up Community Joy event.

Executive Director with the North Bay Heritage Gardeners Jade Scognamillo says their tree will be lit around 8:45 pm and for $5 you can purchase a light.

“That will represent a light bulb on the Christmas tree. Our goal is to sell 2,500 lights and on November 29th during the Downtown Christmas Walk the tree will be lit,” she says.

She says says several retailers are selling light bulbs including Michelle’s Framemaker and Gallery and the museum.

They’re also available on line at www.northbaymuseum.com and www.northbayheritagegardeners.com

The funds support the museum and the Heritage Gardeners.

Scognamillo says the trees will be lit at different times and their event will include many activities.

“Our lighting is at 8:45 and there’ll be hot chocolate, apple cider, mini donuts, a story read and a choir singing so it’s going to be a real nice evening for the family,” Scognamillo says.

The story will be read by the Commander of 22 Wing Colonel Mark Lachapelle and it’s about the Christmas truce in World War One.
