The Who kicked off their 50th Anniversary tour with a pair of acoustic sets at London’s PRYZM nightclub last night.

The short and intimate performances included fan-favourites, Pinball Wizard, and Won’t Get Fooled Again. The band also took the opportunity to debut a couple new songs, performing Break the News and She Rocked My World for the first time.

Frontman Roger Daltry seemed to need the assistance of a manuscript for “Break the News” which was written by Pete Townshend’s brother.

He joked,“I’m in the first stages of the dreaded late-seventies, and the memory ain’t what it was,” and added, “I’ve never sung this song before live. I might have to read it.… Simon is such a great songwriter. For years he’s done his songs at my solo shows, but it’s great to find a song that actually fits on a Who album. It fits really well. Let’s try it.”
