The Near North District School Board and the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic Board have both released their detailed school reopening plan.

Both boards say students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 will remain in one cohort for the full day, including recess and lunch.

Secondary students at both boards will have quadmesters, taking two credits at a time, over four segments to the school year.

As previously announced by the province, students in grades four through 12 at both boards will wear masks indoors.

There are plenty of health and safety protocols detailed in each plan.

At the Catholic board, each school will designate an isolation room/area for any student that presents with COVID symptoms, school assemblies and other large gatherings will not be allowed at this time and team sports continue to be “on hold” until provincial organizations indicate that it is safe for team sports to resume.

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board also states that two options are available to parents for their child’s education: online only and conventional back to school, full-time, five days a week.
