Laplante sisters have terrific weekend in Ottawa at Nationals

The Laplante sisters had a great weekend  on the water at the Canoe Kayak National Championships in Ottawa this past weekend.

First, Zaffia competed in the C2 200 meter event with partner Katie Vincent and together set a new Canadian record of 49.198 seconds, eclipsing the old record by six seconds and winning the gold in that race.

Zaffia also won a silver in the C4 and bronze in the war canoe events.

Younger sister Zeyana competed in the K1, K2 and war canoe events, earning a silver and bronze.
