North Bay Police logoTwo people have been charged by North Bay Police following the observation of a drug trafficking incident.  Police say the incident in question occurred Tuesday  at Main and John.  53 year old Kenneth Luke Ross Stephens has been charged with trafficking in marijuana, possessing property obtained by crime under 5 thousand dollars and possessing marijuana under 30 grams. A 43 year old male faces a possession of marijuana count.

Police seized marijuana, a digital scale and 150 dollars in canadian currency.

Meantime, Mattawa OPP report damage to machinery parked at Boulter Road in Mattawa. 

Police say several pieces of machinery at the work site were severely damaged including smashed windows, discharged fire extinguishers and cut wires. 

Damage was done to a bulldozer, a dump truck and an excavator. 

Police peg the damage amount as being in the thousands. 

Anyone with information is asked to call OPP or Crimestoppers.

Also, OPP say there have been 3 instances in recent days of motorists driving while impaired.

 A 42 year old Ottawa man, a 21 year old Bonfield man and a 33 year old Sturgeon Falls man have been charged with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in their blood.

One of them driving an ATV was driving while under suspension from doing so.
