Randy Sheppard resigns after nearly three decades serving local education

After nearly 30 years of service in local education, Near North District School Board Trustee Randy Sheppard has decided to step aside.

Sheppard says it was time to step aside and he was thankful of all the kind words of gratitude spoken of him during last night’s meeting (Tuesday).

He says one thing he will really miss is the Me to We event in Toronto which he gives the teachers a lot of credit for.

Board Chair Dave Thompson says Sheppard is someone whose experience and dedication can’t be replaced.

He says “there will never be another Randy Sheppard or that type of school Trustee dedicated.”

Thompson says as per the democratic process they have appointed Harry Fry who finished second on the ballot in zone two during the 2014 election.
