This is Snowmobile Safety Week and the North Bay Snowmobile Club has said that while the conditions aren’t ideal, most of their trails are open.

They say it is still early in the season, but they were able to open the trails and list them as LIMITED.

That means anyone out driving on the trails should be extra cautious.

Shawn Flindall is the director of marketing and public relations for the club, and he says when you do go out, to always stay on the trails, pay attention to the speed limits, and never ride alone.

He say there are still rocks and stumps and not enough snow to cover holes and smooth out the trail, however, if there is enough snow next week, they should be able to fully open all the trails.

The NBSC says this opening will also help the local economy, as snowmobiling helps many businesses in the north.
