Two people in Papineau-Cameron charged after toddler injured by a dog

Mattawa OPP have wrapped up their investigation into a report of child being bitten by a dog on November 28th.

Charges have been filed against two people from Papineau-Cameron Township, where the incident allegedly happened at a residence there.

23 year old Danielle Murphy and 30 year old Collin Walters are charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life, obstruct peace officer, mischief and owner of a dog – failing to prevent biting or attacking.

The dog has since been put down.

Originally it was reported the incident was alleged to have happened in Mattawa on the way to the Santa Claus Parade, with a 22 month old suffering severe injuries.

Police later reported the incident did not happen in Mattawa.
