water tap faucetIt will cost you a-dollar-three  for every cubic meter of water you use, as well as $29.50 for your fixed monthly cost.

Those are the official 2016 rates as council accepted them on Monday.

Deputy Mayor Sheldon Forgette says these are lower than the original proposed rates and this should bring some savings to homeowners.

He was asked if these rates could stay as they are going forward.

He says “I’m sure there will have to be adjustments year over year, it’s like any business you have costs that rise. However, we’re hopeful that we’ll have more connections coming in with new developments which means more possible revenues and that can off-set those costs.”
